Centers of Excellence (CoEs) concentrate on specific areas of expertise with the goal of promoting research, innovation, and knowledge sharing. They are essential in developing skills and advancing best practices in a variety of fields, including education, technology, health, and agriculture. CoEs carry out state-of-the-art research and development, offer advisory services to stakeholders and policymakers, and provide training programs to strengthen professional capacities. These institutes promote cooperation between government, business, and academia, which makes it easier to share resources and ideas and greatly aids in the creation and application of policies. The Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research and other centers at universities like Addis Ababa and Mekelle are noteworthy examples in Ethiopia that work together to promote the nation’s development objectives by enhancing capacity and specialized knowledge.
